AcousticRecord

AcousticRecord is based in Pembrokeshire, and is owned and run by me, Guy Johnson. I provide a wide range of integrated recording solutions, based around a Mac G5 / PowerBook Pro / Logic 8 / Fireface 800 / DAV BG8 / Alice 828 / Mackie Onyx mixer. This gives me up to eighteen simultaneous recording channels (more channels are no problem) and umpteen mixing channels. My aim is to to produce finished audio masters - and artwork if needed - for a wide variety of clients, from singer-songwriters, folk, jazz and rock, orchestras, and schools.

AcousticRecord specializes in acoustic and folk music, because that is my main passion in music. This kind of music, because of simpler bands, lends itself to lower studio overheads, and therefore I can quote competitive rates, and can therefore also support the emergence of new talent with special production deals: You future stars are out there, so don't hesitate to contact me!

Rock Bands are accommodated in a special facility away from the problems of curfews and Angry Neighbours, in a large holiday home/studio.

***StopPress*** All-new Logic line-array PA & Logic monitors: The Dog's Bollocks, mark my words. Especially useful for live recordings: Superb projection at sensible levels, and reduced off-axis colouring of any venue

History

AcousticRecord is owned and run by Guy Johnson. I have been in the recording and sound reinforcement business for 18 years. I started by persuading a band from Bath, who were touring in Pembrokeshire, that they needed a sound engineer. The business started soon after, building on a wide variety of studio and live engineering experience, and has recently moved back to West Wales, bringing a nice collection of microphones, mixers and other goodies.
