Ember are three musicians who play original songs in a folk style, with two guitars, fiddle and percussion. We felt that recording live in a small church would give a direct 'what you hear is what you get' . . . Which is what we got, after a lot of work.
The sessions were recorded onto an adat digital tape-machine, via my Alice 828, and then transferred to Logic for editing and mixing. The 'cello was overdubbed, as were some of the backing vocals, and extra guitar parts. No-one has guessed yet . . . Convolving reverbs are a great boon.
