Studios

All the recording locations, apart from the main mixing and mastering room, are 'mobile' and are based around a sixteen-track recording setup, based on Logic Pro 7, and installed into venues ranging from a large house, to halls, churches and schools.

The main studio is set-up in a large, rambling cottage on the picturesque Pembrokeshire coast. The studio is a big living-room of an irregular shape, with bay windows, a conservatory, with a kitchen off one corner. With suitable movable screens, this makes for a neutral damped acoustic, suitable for recording rock bands, jazz bands, as well as smaller acoustic groups . There are three bedrooms, a bathroom, two loos and a shower, and ready access to the cliffs and beaches . . . and the famed Druidstone, which is a hotel, pub and restaurant all rolled into one.

For big ensembles, such as choirs, orchestras and brass bands: Venues such as halls and churches are ideal, as they provide sufficient space and good acoustics. This is a much better approach than jamming people into a too-small live room, where the sound can never be as good, due to inevitable room-ambiences, and little elbow-room.

For small groups, a smaller studio can be used, still achieving accurate and uncoloured recordings.

Mixing and mastering is done in the same room as above, with accurate monitoring down to 18 Hz.
